We Got Amazon!!!

I equipped Room 224 with an Amazon search box. Basically if you search amazon's listings through the search box on Room 224 and purchase something up to 10% of the sale price goes to Network for Africa!

This is another way active youth can make a difference!

End Poverty!

I found this sistering site of Poverty.com called FreeRice.com. What this site does is teaches everyone vocabulary and for every word you get correct they donate rice to poor countries.
Know you vocabulary and help starving people around the world!
Add this to your daily 'to do' list and pass it along to friends.

3rd graders aiming for $10,000!

During the last six weeks of school, a group of 3rd graders decided they wanted to take action and help build a water-well in Nicaragua. With parents expectations set at only a few hundred dollars, the group of children set their goals at a hefty $10,000. They set up lemonade stands, did bake sales, as well as a huge read-a-thon where people pledged money for every book read. The children bypassed their goal by $4,000! A group of 3rd graders! Only SIX weeks! This is the type of activism I enjoy seeing in the youth. They developed a passion, just as Room 224 did, that will stay with them forever. Better than any lesson a book can teach.

I applaud their efforts.
