The devastating earthquake...
in southwest China has destroyed or heavily damaged 436,000 properties leading to 4.8 million people homeless as of Friday, May 16. The official death toll now stands at 22,000, with 14,000+ still buried. After shocks are still continuing, causing landslides, blocking roads, knocking out phone lines and burying vehicles. I can imagine the quality of most of the roads in this is quite bad. With heavily traveled routes blocked, aid is probably having a difficult time getting into the most destroyed areas to help clean up the destruction. However, according the Chinese officials, rescuers now have reached all 58 counties and towns that were affected by Monday's earthquake. Will this quake affect the Chinese economy as well as the US economy? I suspect it will. Feed me your thoughts and opinions. What can we do to help?
