Bahia Street Nonprofit


Bahia Street breaks cycles of poverty, inequality and violence by providing high quality educational opportunities for economically-impoverished young women and girls in Brazil. The program developed by African-Brazilian residents of shantytowns in Salvador, Brazil to provide a solution to what they believe to be their most pressing problems.

"Dance Lest We All Fall Down" is an excellent story about Margaret's life in Salvador and co-founding of Bahia Street with an amazing African-Brazilian sociologist by the name of Rita Conceicao.
